To walk through the Black Forest is probably one of the most interesting things on my way to Scotland. It started with an amazing story of friendship. As soon as I entered the forest, it was not long after that when I saw footprints in the fresh fallen snow. Prints of two animals walking side by side. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes. But the photograph proofes it. It was a rabbit and a fox who must have walked here not long before me. I followed the prints for about half a mile. Then the fox prints went on strait and the rabbit turned to the right. It looked like they did there morning walk together and after everything has been said, both went separat ways again. What an amazing story.
After that the only footprints I saw were mine. Until I reached Hoechenschwand. The whole day I have not seen another person. It was just the former Black, now White Forest with its billions of trees and endlessly snow and me. These are the moments when I feel home. I never felt alone for one second.
