23. January 2017 Marckolsheim- Selestat

Sometimes there are overnight places where I’d rather be staying for a much longer time. It makes a big difference when places are owned by people who have a passion for hosting guests. Those people realy make you feel home. Norbert of the „Les Loges Du Ried“ in Marckolsheim has these special skills. He is an excellent host. In the morning he prepared a wonderful breakfast and when I was going to leave, he offered me to transport my Carrix (the one wheel thing that I can attach to my body and that I pull behind me) to Selestat. I accepted hes offer gladly. Without this I was much faster. I felt almost like I was flying.

After Heidolsheim I passed the „De l’Illwald“ restaurant. I thought I could have a cup of tea there and go to the toilet. Unfortunatly the restaurant was closed in the morning. But there was a lady inside who opened the door when she saw me. She asked me if i’d like to warm my self up a bit in this cold weather. And she offered me a cup of tea. I realy do love the French hospitality.
